Welcome to the Sandwich Newcomer's Club
The Sandwich Newcomers Club is a social organization that welcomes both new and established people from our community. Since most Club members have children past school age, scholastic sports and P.T.A. are not available as opportunities to meet new people. The Club's activities provide that opportunity to meet neighbors, feel at home and also get to know their new community. Club members create special memories and build lasting friendships as they participate throughout the year.
We always have a guest speaker at our general membership meetings. In the past few months we have hosted a glass blower, a CPR and defibrillator presentation, a talk by a representative from the Academy of Lifelong Learning, and another by a scientist from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, as well as presentations by Edible Cape Cod and Jonathon Shaw of the Sandwich Historical Society.
We also offer a variety of social activities including Wine Socials, parties and brunches at members' homes, museum visits, shopping trips and much more. Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty of opportunity for hiking, kayaking and bicycling, tennis and golf. Some Newcomers play bridge, do crafts and play Mah Jongg. Book Club members meet monthly to discuss the month's selection. Check out the latest newsletter to see the activities and events that are planned.
There is definitely something for everyone. If not, we're always looking for input to start something new. Members are encouraged to participate in the activities and get involved in the leadership of the Club as much as their schedule allows.
